Tom Wilmot
Director

Tom has over forty years experience in soil stabilisation and road recycling and has been very involved in the development of pavement recycling including innovative binders and specialised equipment. He is recognised locally and abroad as a key driver in promoting research and innovation in this economical form of road construction and road recycling.

Tom has a passion for the development of sustainable principles for road construction and the conservation of natural resources. To this end he is active in promoting technology transfer in this field, particularly in the Australian and Asian regions. He has presented widely at International and Australian conferences.

Tom is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia an honorary member of AustStab and is a recipient of the John Shaw Award by Roads Australia for meritorious contribution to Roads.

 

Warren Smith
Director

Warren is a qualified civil engineer and has over 35 years experience in pavement design and construction. For the last 30 years Warren has worked specifically in the stabilisation and rehabilitation industry being involved in both insitu and pugmill work. As such he has been involved in the development of the different methods and procedures of stabilised pavement design and construction in many varied situations throughout Australia and overseas. He has had a significant input in the ongoing introduction of new technologies in both stabilisation equipment and additive fields.

Warren is now one of Australia’s most experienced engineers in the fields of stabilisation and road rehabilitation and as such is frequently involved in seminars and workshops with State and Local Government Authorities, Consultants and other interested groups throughout Australia and other parts of the World including Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim. Warren has been in the forefront of communicating the environmental benefits of using stabilisation techniques especially for recycling works

David Berg
General Manager

David is an experienced management representative who has provided substantial energy and direction towards SPA over an extended period of time. Drawing on an operational background, David encourages strong work ethic, has an eye for operational details and fosters relationships within SPA and throughout the industry to ensure a collaborative and informed approach to business direction.

David has been a strong contributor to the pavement recycling and insitu stabilisation industry through his service to SPA and also the industry association, AustStab, of which he is current President.

Lorraine Walters
Finance Manager/Company Secretary

Lorraine is a qualified CPA with a Bachelor of Business who is an efficient and innovative manager with over 20 years experience in senior finance positions across multiple industries and businesses, both large multinationals and small local organisations. Her previous roles have encompassed senior positions as company secretary reporting to company board/directors.

Lorraine has a proven track record in streamlining and automating processes to ensure optimal outcomes for the business. Dedicated to developing, mentoring and teaching staff to create a high performing, independent team environment.

Lorraine has a strong history of building sustainable and collaborative relationships with management, staff and external stakeholders.

Daniel Orriss
General Manager
Business Development and Compliance

Daniel is a qualified civil engineer who has over 10 years experience in the road construction and rehabilitation industry. His experience includes operations and contract management for various local government and SRA projects with a net value in excess of $50M.

As General Manager for Business Development, Daniel is responsible for overseeing the aspects of quotation/tendering and marketing activities for SPA along with developing and maintaining high level relationships with industry.

As General Manager for Compliance, Daniel is responsible for managing the SPA Quality, Work Health and Safety, Environmental and Training Systems to ensure we maintain compliance obligations, provide assurance to customers in relation to our ability to manager and deliver on these key outcomes and strive for continual improvement.
